I have owned my share of cars in the 40 years I have been here and I have never heard of this:

The family and I got back from vacation a couple days ago and took our car ('07 chevy malibu) to the garage because, when going over 60mph and applying the brakes, the car would shake like there was a wheel out of balance. They told me that the brake rotors needed to be replaced because they were warped. Makes sense.....but I asked what caused it. He says just heat and normal wear. Im sorry but that sounds like bullshit to me LOL. Of all the cars I have owned over the years, this has never happened before...what are using for rotors now, aluminum? How the hell you going to warp a rotor through normal use?

thats my rant for the day. LOL:yakyak:

Eff that..get a damn Toyota or Honda....LOL....but that is some serious BULLSHIT...LOL...Normal Wear..hahahaaa So cars are now supposed to be used for show pieces..just let em sit in your garage so ppl can see it....

There was a time when American Cars were held in high standards...Chevy and Ford being among the leaders, but its a different time now...and the quality u once known has diminished greatly.

Try and get 200,000+ miles out of one of these new American cars would be almost impossible

Im telling you, one of the first cars I ever owned was way back in the day before I got married and had kids. It was a run down looking Honda Civic, but I have to say I loved that car. NEVER had to put a nickle into it. Just put fuel in the tank and forget about it. That thing ran forever.

For a daily driver, I'd check to replace the rotors/pads every 30k miles. Sounds like the problem could of been just uneven material on one of the pads, and the shop just got ya more. But those parts get extremely hot and tend to crack and warp overtime.

No kidding.

Foreign steel. It's not up to the same standards as American steel. Before American steel got run nearly completely out of business due to cheaper steel, brake rotors would last for what seemed an eternity.

There are brake rotors made now, that can't be resurfaced even once. When they get warped, it's time to buy a new set.

Not a uncommon problem nowadays.
