Yeah socom has sucked after the first one, in single player.

I remember playing Socom 1 and it was HARD to get a stealth rating....I mean REALLY hard...

If you missed 1 fucking shot on a guy, or didn't see he had a buddy near by and it was OVER...

Damn guys had a HUGE line of sight, and u had to actually watch patrol patterns to make sure u didn't run into the enemy. It took serious tactics to get good ratings on Socom 1

I LIKED THAT SOCOM...

it seemed over the years it started to be more about run-n-gun rather than stealth...and this damn game had little stealth in it at all...once you got to a check point the freaking enemy mysteriously just KNEW you were there..it was pissing me off....lmao....after then for a few hrs I turned that shit off...

I know right yaya. There was a portion of the second to last mission where you had to make your way up a hill with a million different ruins, terrain that gave a huge advantage to the enemy and no way to make it up the hill without being detected.

I think I spent about 3 hours on that one portion of the mission. I have never been so pissed off at a game. No matter what I did or how I positioned the stupid AI assisted teammates I had they either got killed or got me killed.

Freaking game

It's so dumb how your computer teammates run right up next to you. Like I'll be playing takedown, and I'll rush at what I think is the last guy with the diamond, and 4 of his buddies will pop out behind me. Now, because I got a 203, 4 guys in a group is no problem, just read where your getting shot from, turn, and shoot, right? Nope, not when I'm so damn sexy and 45 can't get enough of my body that she's gotta run right up against me. So in the end I ended up turning and shooting her directly in the side of the face with a 203 that woulda killed all 4 of the bad guys, instead it just killed me and all the rest of my dumb teammates....right at the end of the mission! Haha, can't wait to play with real people with mics again.

What difficulty did you play on yaya? You CANNOT run and gun in the single player on the higher difficulties. The game changes so much that your team becomes the best Offense and you become a Support character. My opinion is there are more Issues with Single player than there are in Multi. Enemy AI is dumb.. but your supports AI is worse. They get stuck on stuff, cant follow simple commands just because they dont see it. I have beaten the game on normal(twice), difficult(not sure this is the correct name for it), and elite. It takes longer to beat the harder difficulties because your forced to sit back and let your team advance. You will drop from 2-4 square hits on Elite and with 6-12 guys shooting at you, the odds are not in your favor. Even using the cover system does not guarantee your safety. The stealth missions, as 45, dont really get harder as the difficulty goes up. They can spot you alittle easier but you can still sit right in front of them or in a bush right next to them and not be seen.

I think it is actually not toooo bad of a game though, but do agree the first socom single player was the best. I have spent alot of time playing the Single player and have 98% trophies. The only one I need to get is an online trophy which will then give me the Platinum. So if you are having trouble finding some of the Intels or Blood Oranges let me know..

Well, if the servers are down another week, Copper I will hit you up. But, how do you even remember socom 1 1 player lol? All that I can remember is frostfire was the first map. And was socom 1 when the terrorists yelled " Raheelah! " when they threw a grenade?

I have completed the game on Hard and I will look at elite next week (I am on vacation). But that game is mostly run and gun...imo...you do not have an option to complete a mission without being seen...

It is check point driven...you can always tell when you were about to hit a pocket of enemies because of the damn save points...

Socom 1 didn't have save points, and if played correctly you could pass a mission without triggering an alarm...if not, it was a HARD long fought battle...but that peaked my interest more than this COD Story mission

As Tec said above, Socom 1 was a pain in the ass...lmao...rarely would you pass it on your first try and it took tactics to pass that game..I remember passing that game on Ensign and I thought I really accomplished something...lol...there were some missions that would take an hour to complete...

I dont know of anyone that played that game to the Admiral Rank tho..shit I passed it on Ensign and Lt Junior Grade...that is it...I didn't have it in after 2 play throughs...lol

If you were running and gunning on Socom 1 you were DEAD in a matter of seconds....lol...NO health regeneration

Well you try to play Elite without using your teammates to the fullest or even half of the time and I guarantee you will die 5+ times per mission. Try it without the cover system. Yes the game is based off a "trigger" system when it comes to check points, but if this game was made to run and gun you would not have the cover system. Dont auto target using the directional buttons or use the main team commands. Then if you can honestly sit there and tell me that you "Run & Gunned" your way through Elite, then I will bow down to you.. But lets be clear I dont expect to be doing that. Maybe our concept of Run and Gun is different.. but if you use cover or move your guys forward to cover you, then you are not running and gunning.

The single player isnt bad but its the little things that take away from it. For instance on one level I was trying to sneak past some enemies. They didnt see me but I crossed an invisible line that triggered them to instantly know where I was at. If stuff like that doesn't bother you and you like killing ridiculous amounts of enemies while snapped to cover you will enjoy the single player more than I did. I prefer the S1/S2 single player where the amount of enemies seemed realistic, and one enemy could easily kill you if you weren't careful. Now if someone lights you up you can just hide behind cover and your health regenerates.

i agree with yaya...

SOCOM 1,2 and even 3 you could (if you chose to) sneak around and complete missions without tripping an alarm, and alerting anyone, silenced weapons didnt automatically alert someone, even if you shoot from a concealed location and you kill someone they automatically know where you are. which is lame.

Second, the whole easy, normal, hard, elite skill levels are stupid....too COD like (swap elite for veteran)

Wheres my Ensign, Captain, and whatever else levels they were before?

This game is walk up to a vantage point *game saves*

ENEMY! *OPENS FIRE* and you have an entire army vs 5 dudes...

its literally so un-believable (the story that is) its not entertaining....

campaign would have been 100000x better if

1. there wasnt regenerating health

2. missions were more sneaking based and not get to an area and take on an insane amount of enemies/helicoptors.....
