The mask slips off a bit. Check out the video and let me break it down for you all:

Now there are countries around the world that fund healtcare around the world. I have never had to use any of that healthcare, so I won't pretend to speak intelligently about it. It may be good or it may be below American's standard, I can't honestly say I know for sure. This is going to get a little complicated, so pay attention to keep up as to why this is a bad idea of America.

Countries with free health care have immigration laws and actually ENFORCE THEM. Why? So they aren't paying for the health care of illegal immigrants is just one reason. America has immigration laws, but we do not in any way enforce them to the extent other countries do. Right now, 47 million people in America are not covered with health insurance, 20 MILLION OF THEM ARE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Right now, due to U.S. laws, if it's a emergency they get treated anyways and don't have to pay. Those who can afford to pay do the paying right now as things are. Before we try Universal Healthcare, we must first enforce our immigration laws to the same extent all other industrialized countries in the world do.

A VERY LARGE PORTION OF THE REMAINING 27 MILLION are people like you who will read this, young, healthy, and have decided that you want to spend your money on other things, like a PS3, video games, and internet service. If this thing passes, you will not have that choice much longer. If this passes, if you can't prove you have medical insurance when it's time to do your taxes, the Obama administration is going to FINE YOU $2,500.00

About insurance companies. It is a business. Businesses have to make money to stay in business. How does a insurance company make money? It's not what you think. Yes they collect premiums. But that's not money they make, that's money they collect to make money off the stock markets around the world. Insurance companies invest their money in stock markets to make more money so that when the time comes to pay out settlements they have the money to do it. Anyone who has insurance and has had to use it, know that the first time they have to use the insurance that the bill covers 10-20 years worth of payments they have paid in, but the insurance company covers it anyway. Do the math, it's impossible for insurance companies to make off just collected premiums. PERSONALLY I pay about $500 bucks a year for insurance for the last 4 years and already I have had a surgery that topped over $14,000, and I still have the same insurance. Paid in $2,000 and used $14,000, how do insurance companies do it? Investing in stock markets helps create jobs. So if the U.S. goes to a government healthcare program, not only are those who work for insurance companies out of work, insurance companies money is out of the stock markets and that will even put more people out of work.

So where does the government get it's money for all it's nanny state programs? They will tax those who can afford to pay.

Obama's Treasury Secretary Timothy Geitner today REFUSED to back up Obama's campaign promise that if you make less than $250,000 a year that you won't see any new taxes. Geitner said "everything is on the table" concerning government revenue (that mean's more taxes).

The problem with Socialism, sooner or later you run out of other's people money.

Margret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of Great Britian.

Obama himself has said on national TV, if a person at the end of their life can be saved, the cost to the government will be factored in. Your grandfather needs a hip replacement so he can walk again, but he's 80 years old, he's going to be shit out of luck. But those rules will only apply to us common folk. Remember Mickey Mantle? Baseball player for the Yankees. Needed a liver, and went straight to the top of the list. Most people wait years for a liver, but not if you are the right person. That problem will only get worse. Who are you? Who are you related to? What can you do to support the government? How can you be used? What is the cost analysis benefit? Are just a few of the possible questions that can be factored in.

Or, if you have the means, and the business is available to provide what you want, you can PURCHASE the coverage you want.

Your parents were right. Nothing is for free and if it looks too good to be true it probably is. If you want health insurance, it's out there. I have salesman come by my shop every month, and for about $100 a month you can cover your whole family.

Or you can count on the U.S. government to make sure everyone pay's their fair share and we have Universal Healthcare.

i dont know as much as you when it comes to the healthcare and insurances and stuff like that BUT i do know free healthcare is not "free". its complete BS. i get like a good sum off my paycheque taken away from the government for stuff including healthcare. i dont go to the doctors or the hospital that much so i think its stupid they take that much of my money. Also, why would your American Government be doing that now (or in the near future)? like Hog said, its just gonna slash jobs. idk about you Americans. ya'll should just move up here to Canada lol.

LOL.

Thanks Whomp.

18 years old, and the last thing you want to spend your money on is healthcare.

I understand, I have been there.

Why pay for something you aren't using?

Because you might use it.

Or....

You might be run over by a truck tomorrow.

Doesn't matter, you must pay your fair share.

But, as Whomp as pointed out, you will pay our fair share even if you don't ever need it.

The ONE QUESTION that remains unanswered, what about those who never contribute?

Those who don't work? Those who live off goverment assistance for a lifetime? Those who (unpolictally remark coming....) squirt out kids at a rapid pace because it means more money? Those that spend more than they can earn? Those who borrow more than they can pay back?

Yes, they want free healthcare because they never had to pay for it. They never had a job that paid a living wage and understand the concept of a person getting paid for their skills.

If no one is getting paid, who will have skills?

Who's going to have the money to pay for all of this?

Which one of you are going to Med School for free and then working for free? Only to live amongst the poorest of our population?

Smartest man in the neighborhood, but still in the neighborhood.

Live with that.

In America, the more you know, the more you earn. It's not a evil concept. Your truck is broken down in my town, you call me, not a doctor. If you are sick in my town you call a doctor, not me.

It's not that hard to figure out.

No one goes in business to work for free. If you did......

What's the point?

It seems that health insurance could be rather inexpensive for a healthy 22 yr old male non-smoker. If he gets the flu, he'll likely miss a couple of days work and be back about his business, all the while leveling up on WOW. So, it makes no sense for him to pay the same monthly rate as an obese 50 yr old with arthritis and knee problems does it?
I mean, that would be similar to charging a 30 married mom, driving a minivan, the same amount as a 17 yr boy behind the wheel of a camaro. Greater risk and likelihood of filing a claim should equal higher rates.....right?

When I read reports like the one above....citing 30%+ obesity rates (Michigan is #2 in the 55-65 yr range)......well, it makes me a little mad. Everyone knows it is unhealthy to be fat and out of shape. Now, true, you can be a heart attack waiting to happen, and look healthy, but that is definitely not the norm.

The most basic formula is: Eat less + move around more. You don't need to crunch numbers, weigh your food, and plan your meals out. Just put less food in the pie hole, and take a 20 min walk. (thats a mile a day at a nice leisurely pace)

So, here's an easy fix to keep costs down: Charge more. That's right...more. When you take your mandatory annual physical, and your cholesterol + blood pressure are off the charts, you get a hike in your rates. If you show up 6 months later and you have dropped 50 lbs, and your #'s are back into a healthy range, you get a discount.
(car insurance works the same way with your points record, but takes longer)

For the people that refuse to change their lifestyle and wish to remain fat and out-of-shape, fine. Let them get fat, but they will pay a much higher premium than the low-risk folks.

Do the same thing fore medicaid and medicare too. It ceases to be "free" when you demonstrate that you would rather be obese and unhealthy. If these lardos had to start paying more, they would lose weight. I'm not talking a $5 copay, I'm talking $100+ per month. Why should any taxpayer have to fund a lazy + self-indulgent lifestyle for someone that doesn't take the initiative to keep their own body reasonably healthy?

The untold billions that would be saved annually on health care would negate any need for so-called "reform. insurance companies would't need government intervention to implement it. (of course government would probably intervene anyway on Fattie's behalf) This could seriously be done in about a year or two.

Also I found this lesson about Socialism how its good on paper but not in reality.

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had failed very few students but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "Ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism."
"All grades will be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade meaning, obviously, no one will receive an A." They all agreed to this. After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a C. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. To their great dismay the professor failed them all. Then he sent all of them this note: "A socialistic government will also ultimately fail - because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed."

I just have one comment.

When has the government been successful at running a business that a private company can also do?

How many people use stamps.com? If you don't look into it, because it is simple and CHEAPER. Can you believe it cheaper.

Anyone been to the DOT? When has it been simple. 2 years ago I went to get certified to handle hazardous material for a Class A CDL. I not only had to go through a bunch of bureaocracy, but also take a test, drive 78 miles to get finger printed, then wait for a background check. I waited for the BG check and was tired of waiting becuase I needed that endorsment on my license. I called the DOT and they said we lost some of your paper work you have to come back and fill it out. (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?) I went back up( out of the way for me by aout 30 miles) to get this damn paper work situation worked out. I waited another 2 weeks and finally I have to go back to the DOT pay then then get my license taken care of.

In total it took 2 months to get a FUCKING endorsement on my license. Explain how the government can handle my insurance claim? Or determine what kind of coverage I should have? Can anyone explain that to me?
