talks about some plans for socom 4 and mag...Confirmation of smaller type maps for an infantry type game. Which means no vehicles. Also they do not want to bring the old maps because they want to keep a socom 2 feel but completely new game to take the game into a new era.

Well that's gay... Yeah, I believe them. Socom 4 won't have any old maps.... on day 1. Helloooo DLC

I say kudos to the new maps. Quit rehashing the old socom, as far as maps go. If they give as many maps for the next SOCOM as they did for socom 2 then that will be great. But if they mold SOCOM 2 and 3 together as far as gameplay then I will be sold. Have large maps for vehicles and strategy, and small maps for infantry. Also combine the 2 for vehicles entering urban areas along with wide open spaces for travel. That would be a great game for me.

You can go listen red but I am pretty sure they say blatantly there will be no vehicles which for me would be great...socom 3 big maps were too big and completely changed socom. They said no old maps because this socom came out and had old maps and they wanted to come out with a completely different game. Im worried about changes to the game but small maps and no vehicles and new maps is exciting.

The thing with vehicles is it adds another dimension to gameplay that made SOCOM 3 and Combined assault great in my mind. You couldn't just prepare for enemies coming with guns or grenades, but tanks and humvies.
I thought it was great strategizing with multiple attack vehicles. It was great

Im a fan of the earlier socoms...I mean on socom 2 any given night there would be up to 60000 people on...split in half a few months after socom 3 was out and was a different game. Time will tell what kind of game we will get. if it compares to socom 2 I think the majority of Socom vets will be happy

You have to keep in mind that in the time of SOCOM 2, there weren't many other online games available, everyone just played SOCOM. As time went on and new games came out we have steadily lost players to other games. Most come back once each new SOCOM is released hoping for the great times they had way back when, but they usually never stay.
As for SOCOM 4, I would love vehicles, I really liked the maps on Combined Assault. I am not as excited as most about the whole Zipper thing though. I know /6 doesn't have the game perfect by any means, and I am not defending /6 here. We need tie breaker rounds and some consistency with bullets as well as grenades. /6 has atleast listened to a few Socomers and tried to fix things with patches and new DLC.
How many fixes and DLC did we ever get from ZIPPER? Best I can remember all we ever got from ZIPPER was a bunch of empty promises and laggy servers. I pray that Zipper does well with the new SOCOM game, but from what I have seen past and present (in the little we have seen about S4), I have not been that impressed. To my memory all the Socomers cursed Zipper as much as they do /6 now.
Will SOCOM 4 be a perfect shooter? I will bet after it release you will hear people dogging Zipper and saying /6 could have done better. I say this simply because you can't make everyone happy and all these game seem to lack something we all think they should have had in them.

Hey, I love Slant 6, but don't forget that the ps2 was nowhere NEAR as capable as accepting game updates as the ps3 is. I don't blame them for not being able to update the game.
As for "empty promises"... do you remember "monthly dlc" ? ;(
